![]() I recommend buying a new, heavy-duty trailer that is above and beyond the capacity needed for this build. I chose to go with three 7K axels for a weight limit of 21,000 lbs. ![]() I ordered my custom 32’ x 8’ 6” tiny house trailer from Tiny House Basics. What trailer did you build your tiny house on? My tiny home has about 350 sq ft of usable space, including the ground floor, two loft bedrooms, and the 32” bump-out above the front door that creates more usable space in the larger bedroom upstairs, above the kitchen. These plans were created to illustrate Shalina’s 2-Bedroom Tiny House design in a way that’s easy to understand for both DIYers and experienced builders, with 20 pages of detailed drawings, notes, and reference photos. #Tiny home 2 bedroom fullShalina built this home knowing she would have access to full hookups, but a composting toilet, fresh water tank, and solar panels could be added for off-grid capabilities. #Tiny home 2 bedroom windowsThe living room has a high 11’ ceiling, a standing desk for working from home, a fold-out dining table, space for bookshelves and storage cabinets, a full-size couch, and plenty of windows to bring in natural light. The refrigerator and roll-out pantries are built into the staircase, and extra storage bins drop down from between the loft joists. The kitchen has an apartment-sized range, dishwasher, microwave, and plenty of storage space. The bathroom includes a tub/shower, toilet, sink, and laundry area with a washer and vented dryer. Thru-wall fans and transom windows above the doors help circulate the air from downstairs into the bedrooms. Each bedroom can accommodate up to a queen-size mattress and has a closet, extra storage spaces, and multiple windows. The unique feature of this design is the two enclosed private bedrooms with staircases, standing space next to the loft beds, and closing doors. Shalina’s 2-Bedroom Tiny House on wheels provides around 350 sq ft of usable space. Although I designed this space for just myself and my daughter, this house can sleep up to five or six people making it a great choice for families, couples, and individuals wanting to use it for full-time living, a vacation home, rental, or guesthouse. ![]() The sentiment I most often hear when someone visits my tiny home is that it feels a lot bigger than they imagined and they can easily see themselves living in it. She had sleepovers with her friends, we had friends and family visit and stay over, and eventually, my partner and his son would stay with us part-time and even full-time while we were renovating our new fixer-upper. After designing and building this tiny home, I very comfortably lived in it for three years with my teenage daughter. I can personally attest to the comfort this tiny house can bring to a family who wants to downsize but would like to offer a “space of their own” to their child(ren). ![]() This tiny house is a great option for those who would love to downsize, but still want the option for privacy in their home. High ceilings and windows in the main living area make the home feel open and spacious. Designed by a single mom with long-term living in mind, this fully functional home features two enclosed bedrooms, all standard amenities, and many creative storage spaces. ![]()
